Wasn't aware of the reggae version, but then there's a reggae version of so many tracks its hard to keep up. It's striking how sweet and friendly the Brother D one sounds for a 'revolutionary' track. Only a couple of years before the Bomb Squad or Rick Rubin. Hiphop did change fast in those years.
